Thank you for sharing, Kelsey. I've kicked out that mean devilish voice a year or so ago. It sometimes tries to come back through an open window but I escort it lovingly back to the front door before locking it outside again.
I have evolved a lot since last year and done so many things I wouldn't have thought were possible but I am wondering what life really looks like after a decade without inner critic, what would you say is the biggest change in your life and thus, the biggest result of that change?
Well damn, this is a great question, Geraldine. I've done a lot of work in the last decade, including stuff like energy leadership, releasing trapped emotions and working deeply with human design, so I can't say that my evolution is solely a result of transforming my inner critic. That said, my answer is freedom. I feel free to follow what lights me up, free to seek joy, free to have so much fun, free to break all the rules and do things my way, free to shine and sparkle and be a weirdo and race my heart out and be absolutely authentically me.
Kelsey, this broke my heart a little, hearing how hard you were on yourself as a child. ❤️❤️ I'm so glad you made it through and came out where you are now!
I had a similar inner critic in grade school, matching my footsteps to a negative mantra. Something shifted for me in 2013 (divorce) and she just quietly faded into nothingness. I also had as a swimmer (synchronized) and I let my inner critic stop me from swimming my senior year! I don’t really know exactly how she quieted. She just did around the time of my divorce.

Aw. You know what? It was exactly what I needed to be the person I am today and to do the work I do. I’m so grateful for the experience.
Silver linings ❤️
FYI - I'm featuring this article in my next post and Mindful Manifestation...coming out Tue June 18th.
Thank you!

So interesting, Teri! I thought I was the only weirdo who matched their footsteps with a negative mantra. Thank you for sharing!
I think it was around 2013 that I started matching my footsteps to positive mantras instead. Made all the difference.
Mmmm, I love that! What are your favorite positive mantras?
I just posted about one this week.
I am a Phenomenal Woman.

and my other favorite right now is "I Am Blessed"
This so great!
