When Zumi was about ten weeks old, he finished a zoomie and looked at me with his big puppy eyes and a wide smile on his face. “It’s SO MUCH FUN being a puppy!” he said.
Now that he’s two he’s still having an absolute blast. When we play ball in the backyard and he runs while squeaking the ball in his mouth, ears flopping against the side of his head, I can hear him saying, “this is SO FUN!”
When he and Tashi chase each other around the backyard, they each check to make sure the other one is chasing them, and I can almost hear them giggle as they have SO MUCH FUN playing together.
And when Tashi, who did not have so much fun as a puppy, has a new toy in her mouth, she celebrates by prancing, jumping and twirling. Her vibe screams, this is SO FUN!
Fun comes so easily for them. And not just quiet, medium-level fun, but ohmygoodness-this-is-awesome SO MUCH FUN!
When was the last time you had SO MUCH FUN?
For me, it was this morning. I rode bikes with my friends Rachel and Jim, and we had a fantastic tailwind towards the end of our ride. We were flying through the farmland. It was SO MUCH FUN!
The first part of our ride was great too, but it wasn’t SO MUCH FUN. I loved being outside on a beautiful day with people I love, doing what I love. It was fun, but not FUN.
As adult humans, we tend to limit ourselves to lowercase fun (if we have any fun at all).
But what if you went to a playground and swung on the swings or went down the slide or took trapeze lessons or jumped off a rope swing into the water or flew on a zip line? What if you not only set an intention to have SO MUCH FUN, but what if you actively cultivated SO MUCH FUN in your life? What could change?
Let’s dive deeper:
What keeps you from having SO MUCH FUN?
What beliefs would you have to release to allow yourself to have SO MUCH FUN?
How would having SO MUCH FUN on a regular basis change your life?
How could you have SO MUCH FUN in your life this week?
Please share in the comments.
I love you.
Love,
Kelsey
Thank you for this post Kelsey. I am a big believer in having fun. I am a big kid when I color. I color with the ferocity of a five year old. While coloring I sing/yell off key about my day. I am also a big kid when I go to Disney. Fortunately, this is an hour and a half away.
I swing regularly at the playground in my co-housing community. Not many neighbors join Mr. Kids do, though, and it's SO MUCH FUN when they do.
I think I limit the fun I get to have because of a fear of standing out and being different/crazy ~ I'll turn 60 soon.
I love playing games and doing things outside with friends. The pandemic has dampened the fun gatherings we create together as a community.
